Exam: Written examination, for recruitment of Probationary Officer in Junior management grade scale - I in Indian Overseas Bank, Central Office at 763, Anna Salai, Chennai - 600 002.

    Eligibility: Indian citizens who have completed the age of 21 years and not 30 years as on January 1, 2011. Relaxation in maximum age for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PC/ Ex-servicemen will be as per government's guidelines. Graduation from a recognised university with minimum 60 per cent marks (minimum 55 per cent marks for SC/ ST/ PC category; Computer literacy (candidate must either possess before or acquire within six months of joining the bank. Diploma in Banking and Finance (DBF) from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is a desirable qualification besides the above entry-level qualification. The written examination will comprise of objective test and descriptive test. Objective test will have five sections (each with 50 questions) as test of reasoning, test of English language, test of quantitative aptitude, test of general awareness with special reference to banking industry and test of computer knowledge (250 questions carrying total weightage of 225 marks with total time duration of 150 minutes). There will be a negative marking for every wrong answer (0.25 of the marks assigned to that question). If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off. The descriptive paper of one-hour duration would be on English composition comprising of three compulsory questions (essay, précis writing and letter writing) would carry a total of 50 marks (weightage 25). Candidates who rank sufficiently high in the order of merit in the written test as per the cut off marks decided by the bank will be called for the interview. The interview will carry 50 marks.
